Do u need to be really strong to do Jack Hammers? -

Hey Do u need to have LOTS of strength to do Jack Hammers? Ive been doing LOTS and LOTS of push ups and all i can do is a Hopping Handglide. Wen I try to do Jack Hammers i cant even hop in the air with one hand. I dont get it. Is there any training or strength building exercises that will allow me to do a Jack Hammer? Help!
Do crickets before you do jackhammers, then transition the crickets into jackhammers by lifting your unstabbed hand. Don't need much strength because you're supposed to get momentum from the crickets. The momentum from your crickets will eventually die out, usually after 10-15 pumps depending on how fast your crickets are and how good your mechanics are for the jackhammers. You really don't need to do jackhammers any longer than that because it will get boring, but if you want to keep going after your cricket momentum dies out completely, you'll need more momentum from putting your hips into it, and twist your wrist faster.
ok so i have trouble learning new moves and everyone at school tells me that im too big to break good like im about 6 foot 3 inches and 100kg (225 pounds) but im good for my size i can windmill, cricket, 1990, 2000 almost turtle, kinda almost flare im still ages away tho and i really want to jack hammer cos everyone digs jackhammersso have u got any tips that can b helpfull? cos everytime i try to do it from crickets my legs hit the ground and i cant ballence on 1 arm very good
When you transition from crickets to jackhammers, make sure you bend your knees. That's VERY important. It's the exact opposite of a windmill because in a windmill, you're supposed to focus on keeping your legs straight. For jackhammers, focus on keeping them bent as much as you can, and lean your body to the left if you're going CCW. to the right if CW. Hope I helped ya there, big fella.
im 6 4 and weigh 200lbs i dont think size or weight is a problem, its your strength to body weight ratio.
i think president has give u the best advice around but in addition to bending your knees, to elevate yourself a little more, push your hips up and your bum down.
thanks fellas i been practising and now i can do a kind of crickets to jackhammers thing where i do a couple of crickets then a couple of jackhammers then a couple of crickets again but themost multiple jackhammers i got so far is 3 so ima hav to work on that, but yeah thanks heaps.
When I first started to get jackhammers, I think I only got around 3 pumps too. When I look at the old clips, I see that I slowly unbend my knees without knowing it. Keep your mind on your knees and your stabbed hand and you should be able to get it.
