Turtle details - 09-16-2003, 09:14 PM

Hello everyone, this is my first post here and I also just started breakin about a week ago.

I have been working on turtles a decent bit, but I have a question about the basic form. All of the clips of people I see that do the turtle generally spread their legs wide apart and bend them a little.

Now, I can hold the turtle for about a minute and it isn't straining on me, but my legs are in a completely different position. Spreading my legs wide and bending them a little makes my legs fall to the ground. If I do it my way, where my legs are close together and completely folded over is it just my style or just a bad turtle?

dont worry about it first time i had turtle freezes they were ugly demented frog lookin things now i can do anythign i want with my legs pretty much and stay in the freeze it just takes time. Like straight legs freeze took me about 3 hours of practice to get. spinning slowly in itself took me 2+ monthes, and speed came about another 2 monthes after that... keep in mind i concetrated 70% of my practice time solely on turtles though which isnt recommended.

Try to do practicing on the stabing with different leg postition...
keep balance in all those position...
After that, practice your hand transition...
then jus start your turtle....

by the way its not a bad turtle, ive seen people do it like that. if u can get them, there sick

Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.

Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.
