I wanna learn back handsprings as a step to getting to backflips, but when I go to do em, I just chicken out. Does anyone have a suggestion that could help boostr my courage? or do I just have some strange desease or sumthin and I won't ever be able to do it.....

ANYWAYS... You should turn on some break music and get yourself pumped up. Then find a nice safe place to do it, like grass or lino. I just did that afterschool today, except instead of getting pumped up with music, there was a girl I wanted to impress, so I was like.. fuck it, WHEEE. I did a back handspring, then I ate grass trying a backflip. No problem, I'll get it next week, cuz I'm not scared of breaking anything anymore. |

I usually practice forward handsprings on a matress in my basement so I think that'd be a pretty good place to start, and I should get pumped somehow, then just give 'er... I'll try it out.

hahaha pres. sorry that was funny. the handspring and backflip are 2 diff. motions. the backflip is up and down, the handspring is front to back.

In a gainer, you jump forward and tuck.
In a backtuck, you jump up and tuck. In a back handspr., you jump back and whip your legs forward, without needing to tuck because you have your hands to whip off of. |

i can do a double back flip on a tramp easily, but im way to scared to do it on the ground i dotn wanna break my fuking neck

i have no idea why i havent got the courage for a backhandspring. I do forward ones really good. i tried backflips in the snow once and i could get as far as president in that video. i can also lower my self into a bridge and do a walkover, but i just cant do all together so fast. i wont even do it on a trampolene

If I were you I would get on a steap hill and then do your springs going down the hill. Gradually move down the hill and you will gradually get to flatter ground, untill WoW you got em down. (secret: I'm a gymnest and this is how I had to learn mine. Try it I know it worked for me!) Let me know how things go. Peace.

i can do backhandsprings with a spotter, and on a tramp, but when i try it myself, i just jump onto the back of my neck
Im to scured to try back tucks by myself, though im pretty sure i can do it (its just the fear thats stopping me) and whenever i ask my spotter to help me he says ok, and then he leaves and goes to work or back to his house argh, im thinking about just trying it by my self (i can atleast get to my knees) |
