Anubis i disagree, I think people should never learn ugly flares and should practice getting there first flare real good and take logical steps to multiple flares. Im quite sure you learn multiple flares faster that way.

Can you do one flare into standing? Remember you need to put those hands down fast to help shift the weight. |

you should never feel like you are slamming your hand down. When your weight is going to move from one hand to the other, the hand that is recieving the weight should already be near or on the floor.

OK I've started flares yesterday (with the instruction of 3 bboying teachers). One of them says I got really far in my first day, so I was really motivated ... I start from the 1-handed push-up position, and I go clockwise. I always stop with my legs open in a V in front of me, and I land on my ass, but I keep rotating clockwise, so I do kinda buttspin. Also, my second hand (left) comes down really hard, so after like 5 tries it hurts like hell, so what am I doing wrong?
And by the way, an awesome guide! |
