Enough power for a flare? -
11-03-2009, 08:02 PM
Hey guys, I'm new to the forums and everything, so please don't kill me if i posted in the wrong section :P
So I can manage to hold a planche with my legs extended in a V-shape for a good 3 seconds, would you say that I have enough power to execute a flare? Physical-wise I'm very lean yet muscular, and I have good ab-strength as well. So I'm lost on whether it is more of a skill problem than a power problem. I'm having a lot of trouble with flares as I can't manage to get my other arm down fast enough after I first kick out. I checked here for my "problem", but didn't think it fell under any of the categories. Thanks to anyone that helps~ |

if you can do planches you are physically ready for a lot of moves. The technique is what really matters in power.

you need back muscle, triceps etc and practice <-- key.
the muscle and upper body strenght you need to get flares will come to you with practice. gl |

Alright, thanks. I figured it was really technique that's preventing me from doing a lot of moves. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I do believe I'm physically adept at doing many moves. Bad thing is that I suck with the technique area D:<
