Alright heres my situation, i been bboying a year, but really half a year because of fall and spring sports didnt bboy, and the time i been bboying, i didnt really focus on tops or footwork just power, and im learning power, like flares and windmills, but to be honest, i have no style, so i wanna give up power for a bit and get some nice footwork and tops, where should i start, i have lame footwork and lame toprock. Honestly i feel like i have no creativity and flavor because i been obsessed with power. :dead:

How to keep flow and add flavor to footwork without starting something

So my friend was critiquing my set and he said I need to add more flavor or it is just doing moves. He said my taunts weren't dancing and to take em out. He said during my middle set I get sloppy. He said my taunts are kind offensive and to add different flavor cause one it aint enough and two it is offensive.

so it was a session, and I'm practicing 12steps. so an older bboy comes over and i tell him i'm practicing 12steps. he says, no they're called floor salsas, and that when i step over and under i need to turn my hips, otherwise it's not a floor salsa because it's not like a salsa.

1. why do people insist on one name being correct when it's obvious there's lots of names for steps and techs? like, 12 steps are called scrambles, baby love, etc

2. do I have to turn my hips while doing 12steps because I tried it out and i like staying stiff better

another thing. he said my footwork is clean but it still has major issues because it's not 'smooth' enough. he meant smooth not as in linking between steps or techs but when I do them, I'm too 'sharp'. I don't know if that's something I should actually work on because I don't want my footwork to lose that 'sharpness'.

3. is smoothness of footwork within steps/techs important or does it not matter?

so lately some of my friends have been telling me that my footworks really sloppy. i think they are kinda right, but i can't find any real big mistakes with my footwork. critique sixstep please? =D

Hitting the beat with Cicis

I was just wondering, do you do one cici either beat, or every other beat? I personally think it'd look best to do one cici per beat, but I'm not sure if i can actually move that fast o_O

Which way do you recommend? The cicis that I find on youtube are all every other beat I think.
