Spinning it makes it a headdrill. That's different.
I've seen bboys do landings on both front and back... some prefer falling on their fronts to continue footwork, or because they find landing on their back has spinal injury RISKS. Landing on the back seems more logical, though - you've no face/nose to crush, and for both genders, no protruding... ahem... parts to crush either. Plus the back is more evenly distributed, meaning a cleaner, more-fleshy landing to better distribute weight across the impact.
