right portion? that's clockwise i'm assuming.
for a ccw person (meaning i'm telling you how i do it), it helps by learning how to start off a 1990.
[this is from standing]
first take a step back with your right hand as you're twisting your body. remember to THROW your right hand to your left foot. these two steps go at the same time so as you're steeping back, begin to throw your body and make sure you make a circle motion with your legs.
now land on your left forearm and make a barrel with your arms like you're doing barrel mills. if you don't know what that is, pretend you're holding a large box the size of your body. keep your hips up, and roll on your upper back. keep your freaking legs locked, i can't stress that enough. if you don't, you'll end up screwing your circular motion and you'll have a backspin or you'll land on your face.
if you post up a vid, i could help you in the areas you need to correct. if you want cw, just switch lefts with rights, vice versa.
trying to:
smoothen mills/variations
headspin
do a freakin' planche
get hollows
