well theres many ways to go into footwork from standing. here's three.
first, the easiest and most common way, you just step back with ur left leg like a flare then just take the first step.
second, my favorite way, is the shuffle down. u can find a tutorial on the DVD forum. basically, it's stomp, lunge, shuffle, shuffle, down.
third, is goin into footwork with a swipe start. very easy if u can do swipes. just lean back, jump put ur hands down, and rotate your lower body in the pushup position, then continue on with your footwork.
P.S. how does my 2 step look?
moves i got
all variations of footwork, toprock, uprock, turtles, helicopter/coffee grinder(1 and 2 handed), skyscraper, (air)chair, planche, kip up, no handed kip up, swipes, front handspring, front tuck, 2 handed air baby, super duper L kick, 1 legged swipes, handglides, crickets, windmills (stabbed), both ways leg hops, scissor kicks, back handsprings/back tucks, flash kicks, double legs, fulls, double fulls, front fulls, kick fulls, pretty much any crazy tumbling pass, and wallflips.
pm me and i'll help u with any of those moves

When your doing the toprock, cross your left leg over your right leg and spin down clockwise.

sounds like your brother is stepping back in to his six step
that's an easy one
another easy one is sleeper/ corkscrew, like athens said - cross one leg behind the other and unwind it down
or the swipe entrance, a little trickier
you can knee drop down - put one foot behind the other knee, let the knee bend FORWARD ( it'll look like you move to the side ) and land on the foot that is behind the knee
as for the two step - the two step is nice, but your six step doesn't get enough momentum to be useful, make sure you can do a full circle in six step before you start tweaking it and making it shorter
you've got blank pauses before you get to the floor, that seems to indicate that you're thinking too hard about what to do next - drill your text until it's smooth and natural
and get some tension in your arms, not enough that they are stiff at your sides, but DO SOMETHING with them in your toprock
if you can , practice in shoes, it's good for you
you must have been a bgirl.... because the only moves that you pulled on me were heartbreakers

try doing pike and when you come down, try coming down in pumping position which will allow you to succesfully transition to 6-step
If you don't know how to pike, go here for my own pike guide:

There was no music playin while you were dancing, was there?.. I could tell that you couldnt feel a rythym especailly when you shuffle down, there was no emotion nor feeling there. But I have to say that's a good transition to 6 step

Heres just a drop i use, picked it up one day when i was rockin.
(This is just to give ya ideas, i dont mind ya usin it, but for general fyi dont bite ;P)
From rock kick your foot into the back of your knee (and yes i mean kick) like your going into a kneedrop, but let your standing foot slide and drop backwards onto your hands and the leg you kicked into the knee. Not only is this a great six step drop, but its also a great drop to swipes.
(And its dope :P)
