You're supposed to land on top of your shoulders with your chin tucked in.
When you take off, you throw your leg upward, almost like a backflip but don't actually do it. When you're coming down, have your arms on the side while coming down, your palms will first make contact and the you're going to land on top of you shoulders with chin tucked and touching your chest. DO NOT LAND ON YOUR NECK!!!!!!! land only on the top of your shoulders. Do it at your own risk. I don't want to be blamed. Try it on a futon first. Hope that helps.

Something to think about is what kind of suicide you're doing. The kind described above is what's called a "layout suicide" for obvious reasons. You jump in the air and your body lays out and lands. That's one way, another way that's becoming more popular is the front flip style. That's where you do a front flip onto your back. To do it safely on a hard ground is simple. When you jump up and throw your legs over your head throw your arms out to your side and have them a little below your body. They should be on an angle, that way the first impact will be like the one above. Palms, arms, shoulder, back. If you want you could put your arms on enough of an angle so that your legs and arms absorb the impact at that same time. To do so you must have your knees bent though. To understand what I mean lie down with your back to the ground. Spread your arms out to your side so they go straight across, and bend your knees up. Push up with your hand and feet a bit so you're not completley on the ground. That is how you will land. Hope this helps.

Break Master, that clip looks Terrible man, looks like it hurt soooo bad too. See that jarring action at the end? looks like it's bouncin around and stuff....that's bad, and That's where people tend to get hurt. In fact, my experience has shown that pretty much the worst injury(unless you fall on your head) is just a bad headache for jarring your head too much.
I've got the flip-suicide down pretty solid, in fact on a regular basis i do them in school. It's good practice, Freaks people out, then impresses them at the same time...lol....my teachers comment on it too, it's great.
I'll admit, that even when you're practiced, it's not that they dont hurt at all, it's just that it's minimal pain combined with an enhanced tolerance for the pain.
If you want to learn to do these, and practice them, I can give a few guidlines, but like most flip-type moves, it's the fear that hurts ya the most, learn to get over it. Even if it hurts at first, realize that you aint dead, and you're over the pain within a few minutes at worst.
I dont think i can write a guide, but if you want to practice getting used to it, i think a great drill is to go into a handstand, and purposely let yourself fall forward onto you back. Get the feel for it. It might hurt at first, but y ou'll have that. practice this until you dont hurt yourself at all, and are comfortable doing this over and over and over without whining or getting a headache. From there, practice a suicide from a squatting position, just until you get a feel for it. Also, this helps build confidence and makes you less likely to chicken out and break your neck doing a standing suicide. From there, just grab the guts to try it....over and over and over....Then you can make your style and perfect your landing.
Remember tho: If you go through with it, the worst you can really do is to land crooked or something, and be in pain like if you wrecked a bike or something......if you chicken out, you run the risk of quitting your rotation, and landing on your head. And just like a chicken, it's a bad t hing to have your neck broke.
Good luck, hope this helps, but remember just be like Nike.....Just Do It

Found a decent flip-style suicide clip -
02-05-2004, 11:22 AM
http://hem.spray.se/sammorling/suicides.html
the first clip on that page has the best example of the suicide. If I'm not mistaken, 2 of the other ones are actually coindrops(correct me if I'm wrong), but the first one(the big guy) is a great example. I personally dont lift my leg int he same way to get started, but it's all about personal style, make up your own once u get comfortable with the landing.
Hope it helps.
Peace Easy.

Suicide on butt, that looked dope. Anyway, Breakmaster, seriously, you're going to hurt yourself. You should've read the guide before posting your animated gif. To be honest, that looked horrible and very painful. You had that nice flip there though. It looked like you slid on your butt and after you landed on it. That's not a suicide, that's how you hurt yourself. Like I said before, try it on futon or your bed or something like that.

To tell you guys the truth, suicides still hurt no matter how much you try to minimize the pain. You see, when you let your body just drop, that impact might go up your stomach and you might get a mild stomach ache. It just happens the first time. Might not even happen, if you're lucky.

Not sure that I pointed this out, and it's a great point. No matter how good you get at them, they will still always hurt. Think about it, no matter what you weigh the same, and gravity will always pull you back down at the same rate. The way to cope with this and make it hurt less is to disperse the energy better when you do hit the ground. You want to land FLAT on your back, and if you choose to bring your feet down too you want them to hit at about the same time, or I find myself just a little bit after.
It's always the same energy if you jump the same height, it's how you disperse it that will reflect the pain, and if you can disperse it enough you find that you can easily shake it off and not pay attention to it, which to others makes it seem as tho it didnt hurt at all, which is one of the things that can make this move dope if done right.
Think of it this way: take a hammer and pound yourself in the arm with just forearm with it......Ouch, right? Now take a piece of plywood the same length as your arm, place it on you forearm, and hit the plywood with the same amount of force. You still feel it, and it's the same energy, but it doesnt hurt near as bad when you disperse it propperly. So is the same with a suicide, so try to land flat as possible.
Like I said, biggest problem for me personally is never the pain pain, but sometimes with the wrong landing you might get your head jarred around a bit, and for me it can produce a pretty nasty headache if i land a few impropperly in a row. Once you learn it right tho, they're not so horrible, just stick with it and above all be safe.
Peace easy.

I've never got that headache before. Probably cuz I'm used to tucking my chin in before landing. Suicide's can give you a sick run, after you're done your footwork or something creative. Like me and Bboy fluff, and StupidName mentioned, those are just basic suicides, try to create your own, using the same basic principles of the basic suicides. The most main point of these moves are that you have to minimize the pain to the least as possible when practicing your own suicides.

suicides...
- land by rolling from your shoulder
- put your hands at a 30 degree angle from your side ( this will conquer the force
- remember to slap with your forearm hard, but don't hurt yourself(this will ******** the force to the ground)
- keep your chin tucked in
u can if u believe u can!
