Suicides - Partial Guide Need Advice - 10-14-2003, 05:35 AM

Is this considered a drop? cause i think it is cause i do suicides straight from toprock...

I've been practicing Suicides just for the hell of it and i can do the ones with my arms at my sides landing on the side of my left shoulder and rolling out to the right and the straight backones.

THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO DO THESE PLEASE IMPROVISE YOUR OWN...THESE ARE ONLY MY METHODS

Straight Suicide (Backwards Drop- Easiest to do in my opinion)
1) Stiff your Legs
2) You jump and fall backwards with your arms bent at your sides you can use the back of your triceps(biceps?) and absorb the pressure off the jump.
3) for effect have your legs in the air to show you are landing on your back not your legs and make your arms barely noticable so it looks more like you did not use them.

This can also be done just landing on your back with your legs in the air but i think arms will cause you the least pain.

Rollthrough Suicide (slightly more painful to learn)

1) Do your Toprock this is your thing, try to gain some momentum then before you drop you should be moving left to right
2)Stiff your legs, lower your body slightly towards the left while your leg keep going towards the right.
3) As you jump twist your body slightly so your left upperback hits the floor but not flatly landing on it, swing your legs towards the left.
4) roll through over the middle of your upperback.
5) Roll onto the upper right portion of your upperback

*Keep your legs stiff and in the air for effect
*having your arms infront of you since you would be using them in this type of suicide.
*Use your legs to give you momentum through the roll

Tips for Training

1)NO MATTER WHAT DO NOT DO THIS ON HARD FLOORS WITHOUT PRACTICE ON SOFTER FLOORS FIRST. Grass, Gym Mats, Soft Carpets, Your Bed, etc.

2)Keep your head up so not to land on your head... obviouisly you knew this... i hope.

3)Remember for rolling through you are using your momentum to carry you through the roll so spreading out the perssure from landing on your back. Flatly landing on any portion of your body could hurt you.

4) For Straight backs you should be using your arms, well i know some people do it without their arms but i dont know how to ignore the pain of that yet so...

5) Practice this alot whenever your in parks of feilds with not so good cloths on... for example your shorts and old shirt would do fine. Once you have your form down you can try on carpet then on Wood.

6) Suicides are All about Fear And whether or not you can conquer it, only practice can make this work out just doing suicides out of blind courage could get your hurt so PRACTICE

Uses of Suicides

1) Some People use the Rollthrough Suicide to go into their windmills(airtracks) from standing which works.
2) From Suicides into footwork
3) Suicides into a freeze to end the routine if you are using it not as a drop but from one of your other moves. (doesnt even have to be a freeze ive seen some ppl end by doing a suicide and just kipping back up.)
4) Imagine/Improvise

I know there are other types of suicides but this is the only type i can do.

I need some help on "crypt" suicides which is arms crossed across your chest and falling straight backwards onto your back... if anyone knows how to do those hit me back here.

Edit: Do not take the name of this move seriously and do a suicide --''

Theres a few clips of suicides i saw posted before i dont remember where go look for em.
