Turntable for Sampling - 07-07-2008, 12:34 AM

Sup all, so after a couple weeks I realize at the most that I need a turntable to get better samples. I'm tired of ripping old 80's songs off Youtube and using that.
But I'm not sure what one to get.

I'm looking around $100-$200 because I'm only sampling and I'm already saving up for an MPD24 and some kind of midi keyboard.

I seen this- Buy Gem Sound GT-USB USB Turntable online at Musician's Friend

It's a good price, USB, but it's belt-driven. Shouldn't be a probably as I won't be scratching right?

If not belt-driven I looked at this - Buy Stanton T.60X Direct-Drive Turntable online at Musician's Friend

It's not USB, but it is direct-drive.
I do have a stock sound card so will I have to get that to hook up to my computer?

Thanks

If you're just looking to use it for sampling, really any turntable will do. Belt drive/direct-drive doesn't really matter. But be willing to spend a little more for a good needle so you can be sure to get a decent, accurate sound. A good brand to look at for that would be ortofon.
