Exclamation im begining i need some opinions - 01-03-2006, 09:13 PM

hey, i was wondering if the stanton scratch pack 2 is a good beginner set im into the scratching. and i was thinking it would be good to start out with soo ya. and i was also kinda wondering where you get the records and,, uh like the speakers so i can hear the music i havnt bought anything yet so help me out please im also not trying to spend very much thats also why i like the stanton 499.99 so ya thanks

well, if you haven't already, check the Equipment buying guide at the top of the thread.

As for the Stanton Scratch Pack...I've used the STR8-60s that come with that set and I don't like them at all. I'd reccommend just saving your money.

As for buying records, the easy thing is head over to www.turntablelab.com and get stuff from there. Other than that and other online shops you can check around your neighborhood for thrift stores, pawn shops, record stores, etc. and start digging.

ya i found that at turntablelab.com and i am a BEGINNER and it said its a good beginner one and it came with a video but if its that bad ... and if i dont get that what should i get i know technics but its sooo expensive because then i need mixer,another turntable or i was thinking maybe a cd turntable for partys and stuff=i did look at the buyers guide it was helpful because i was originaly thinking of a gemini=

Definately don't go with gemini. If you're really strapped for cash, the stanton scratch pak is about the best you're gonna do as far as packages go...Unless Numark has one out with their new TT series direct drives

No. Bad needles can cause record wear over time but it takes a very long time and is really barely noticeble.

hey what do you people use for shows and partys as in speakers where do you get them ? and all that like i havnt heard much about the speakers
