His name's Liam Howlett. He does AWESOME DJ'ing. Go pick up The Dirtchamber Sessions Vol. 1. It's his own little mix. Got some really awesome stuff in it. Lots of breaker beats.

To clarify, Liam Howlett is more than the DJ, he IS the prodigy. He does all the production. The other two guys (Keith Flint and Maxim Reality) have a very minor hand in the music making projects and are mainly just singers/dancers.

But yeah, you should definately get Ditchamber Sessions Vol. 1 an AMAZING cd. I think he mixed about 87 songs in a little over an hour.

Like I said...he's more than just the dj...He doesn't dj at the live shows, he's actually playing their songs on a huge amount of samplers, keyboards, and sequncers. He actually very rarely djs live.

Keith Flint is more than just a singer/dancer.
He STARTED The Prodigy. He heard Liam DJing at a rave, and it went from there (there's your answer - he IS a DJ)

The Prodigy was originally
Kieth Flint
Liam Howlett
Leeroy Thornhill
Sharkey (A girl - left the group early on)
"Maxim Reality" - He joined later on - was originally in a Jungle act.

At first, Kieth and Leeroy were just dancers, it wasn't until Firestarter that he was singing (if you can call it such)

The reason Liam Howlett does everything, is because he's a complete and utter control freak. Leeroy and Maxim both have musical backgrounds and abilities, but he quite simply won't let anyone else get involved in the production side.

(Side note - the live guitarist for the latter part of the career was Gizz Butt - a lead guitarist with a hardcore punk band)

Look out for "What Evil Lurks" - it was The Prodigy's first ever release, it came as a 4 track EP
(also appeared, Android, We Gonna Rock and **mental blank - will look tonight**)

You can get re-presses for about £10, but original cpoies are RARE - only sold 7000 on it's release, and is now worth in the region of £50 (that's $75US)
At the height of their mainstream career, copies were known to change hands for over $200US

A bboy without style, is like a broken pencil.

There's just no point.

I never said he wasn't a DJ, I just said he was a lot more than that.

As for keith flint...he didn't really get any creative input into the band until around the time Fat of the Land came out...which is the point that Prodigy went to shit in my opinion.

"Music for A Jilted Generation" and "Experience" were absolutely sheer genius. Fat of the Land just sounded like mush except for like one or two tracks.

Liam Howlett was right to keep keith and maxim away from the production.

And Android is a BAD ASS track. My favorite prodigy track.

but are their any other bands that sound like prodigy, or have a similar style to it?
