Question about DVD - 02-05-2004, 09:52 PM

Hey Tane, this a question that might seem weird, but I'm curious.

Aight, so I just ordered my copy, so I will legally own the copy, right? What I want to know is that I'll be able to record the dvd onto vhs for personal use only. Honestly, I dont have a DVD player, i can only watch tapes. Sound like a problem?

My plan:

Borrow friend's PS2, and use that to play the dvd, while my OLD VCR is able to record the incoming signal(unlike the newer vcr's i've tried this on). I just wanna know if you have a problem with me using this methon to just transfer the DVD onto tapes so I can return the PS2 and use the tapes for my PERSONAL use. From what I Think I know, it's legal to do this, so I wouldnt really have to ask your permission, but I just wanted to know what your thoughts on other people potentially doing this might be, and whether there was ever any plan on releasing a VHS replica of the DVD. I realize DVD has many more great features, but some of us are still living inthe stone age.

Either way, I've already purchased a DVD copy and plan on doing this to make myself a copy i can watch at home without having to inconvenience my friend with his PS2.

Peace easy.

We don't have a problem with you transfering the DVD to VHS for your own personal use.

You will find the DVD much easier to learn from in its original DVD format, because you can go directly to each section that you are learning. You will see what I mean when the DVD arrives.

I hope you enjoy the DVD. Don't forget to write a quick review on this site. We always like to hear what customers have to say.

Lol, trust me, I know exactly what you mean about the added convenience of the DVD. Even just from the pictures I saw in here i figured you'd gone the extra length to make the menus very easy to navigate and find exactly what you were looking for, and did a good job on this I'm sure. But like I said, some of us are still living in the stone age, and my only other option is to spend $40+ on a dvd player. So I'm just going to rely on this fallback plan until I do get a DVD player, which, sense im going away to college this fall, might be soon anywayz.

Thnx for putting out what I'm sure is a great help to even the seasoned bboy.

just thought i would let you know about the problem with ps2's. they have this scrambler thing where if you play the dvd and record the stuff from the dvd the picture is scrmbled and the sound is all garbled. Its a secuirity measure, i have actually done this with meet the parents i think and it didnt work. im not sure about other types of dvd players but i always thought most of them had scramblers

Im finding it harder to be a gentleman everyday. All the manners that ive been taught have slowly died away.

Just a quick update, as if anyone cared :P

Aight, well, got the DVD in the mail yesterday, and frankly I'm quite impressed with the speed at which the order was shipped, nice job there at the warehouse. But I didnt have a PS2 or dvd player, so I went to go see Miracle and crashed at my friend's house. Tonight I might be goin up to the mall and such, so I'm gunna see if I cant find a cheap DVD player for bout $30 or so like I've heard when I asked around. Regardless tho, I've talked to several people who've tried to record PS2-VHS DVDs and I heard the same thigns basically. It can be done, and works bout 60% of the time because some do still scramble somehow. I'm not sure tho that bboy.org had the technology or whatever to have this on their disk, so I think it'll prolly still work. But it might not matter, I might be buying DVD player tonight.

Thnx for the tip tho icebreaka
