Finger Pain -
09-27-2001, 07:26 PM
Well I really need help on this matter. I'm starting to get afraid of the pain in my fingers when trying to windmilling. My shoulder collapses onto my hand, and it creates pain, so now I try to sort of jump out of handglide instead of collapsing. Hold your left ring finger's fingernail and touch it to your left shoulder. Basically that's what's happening. when I'm collapsing. Any suggestions ideas?

if u're a stylehead, u'd usually have ur fingers disjointed from footwork =P
so if the pain is still there after 2 or 3 days, u'd better go see a doc |

I'm on my second semi-major finger sprain from footwork/toprock... sooooo breakings dangerous period :P
My basic assumption is your fingers aren't pointing towards your head during your collapse and instead to your side which is a big no-no, but without a video I can't really tell you what you're doing... your description is practically informationless. |

When you collapse do you roll over your fingers and slam your shoulder into the ground?
Thats what I did for the first 2months I was trying to learn mills... and yes... it was that bad. |

what madd is saying, is that when your in stabbed for windmill, you fingers normal would be handglide stab, which for me in point to the side
when you collaspe your fingers should then point to your head and not stay pointing to the side |

Correct. The basic handglide start your fingers point initially towards your toes, and you twist over them until they point towards your head (a little before works too) and collapse... you've watched the guides here right? They show it pretty well.
