Well I really need help on this matter. I'm starting to get afraid of the pain in my fingers when trying to windmilling. My shoulder collapses onto my hand, and it creates pain, so now I try to sort of jump out of handglide instead of collapsing. Hold your left ring finger's fingernail and touch it to your left shoulder. Basically that's what's happening. when I'm collapsing. Any suggestions ideas?

you don't see it very often and no one really could comprehend why anyone would want one.

finger squishing - 09-22-2007, 11:54 PM

You know sometimes when you collapse for freezes and such, My fingers sometimes get squished and I experience pain in my fingers.

What form do you make your hands into to prevent this? Or rather, How do you prevent this?

^haha yeah...

umm do u mean fingers squished as in putting too much pressure on them?
if so, then just keep practicing n training ur finger strengh
and collapse do u mean like dropping from a freeze to another freeze? e.g. airbaby>handglide

oh wait I think he means.... he does freezes and his blood pressure goes gaagahghahgaga and then he collapses from too little blood flow! then your body squishes your fingers! dont worry thats normal, no need to prevent it!

I don't know how to explain it, It's kind of the knuckles and the bones inside my hand, not really blood squishing o_o

nah i know what you're talking about. Happened to me in airchairs and occasionally in footwork when you get unbalanced... It's basically when you put the weight wrong on your hand and the fingers overextend... and get... squished...

Ummm its mainly practice that stops you getting it, also learning to fall out of freezes properly and which way to move your arms and so forth.

Also, since we are in the subject in your footwork when you do a six step if you go real fast do you still have to stay in the same position or is it okay you keep doing all the steps put your moving in circles little by little?

Well, I remember this basketball coach telling me that to train your fingers, you spin a ball on one finger and kinda move that finger up-and-down. This works on all fingers, I think, but I'm not quite sure if that's the info you need. Sorry...

If you're doing your 6-step at a fast speed you should still be able to control the direction of it and face the same way as you started, otherwise you probably don't have enough control to do it at that speed and it probably looks sloppy.
