Stomach pains from freezes - 05-01-2005, 03:56 PM

Hey ..

I learned how to do the turtle freeze on my right arm about a year or so ago,...

now I try it on my left arm and I get a pain in my stomach from my elbow.

Am I jabbing my elbow in the wrong spot?

If I do it on my right elbow my stomach can support my weight..

any help would be appreciated I would like to be able to do it both ways

work on your abs on your left side of your abdomen.

wear a arm band around your elbow when doing the turtles.

work on the forearm muscles of the arm that's causing the pain.

cheers

Okay, dude. Turtle freeze is when you stab BOTH elbows in your stomach, if youre stabbing with one hand it is a Handglide freeze.

For your handglide problems:

Stab your unfimiliar stabbing hand about where your belt line is, that way you can breath and it dont give you a big ass bruise.

Same goes for turtle freeze, stab near if not on the belt line.

If it still dont work, press down with your fingers (flex them) and palms to elevate your body off the elbows a bit so it makes less pressure so you can breath.

Hope i helped, peace.

You know ow hard it is to make a arch with you hands. I can do it for about 3 seconds and then I give out.

Not to bust in but what muscles will help with handglide freeze cause I cant seem to hold it long?

I can hold it for a long time on my right elbow I would say stomach muscles.. you dont need a six pack you jsut need to be able to take weight on your stomach.. and thats it,.. all the weight should be resting on your elbow..

not alot of leg strength .. just hold your legs up.

ok people, the pain should be on the wrist, if its not, your doin it wrong. i can hold with my right and left for as long as i want, once you know where to stab with your natural hand (mines the left) then the other hand should be easy.

but .. if you are doing that turtle spin thing.. where you have to switch hands and you spin in a circle doing the handglide and switching hands to spin..

if you do that....

then its hard to not stop in your stomach.. because if you stab in your pelvis area you have to turn your body and its hard to switch hands that way.

Fiction, I just started about a week ago and I learned turtle freeze and alot more and now after a week I can almost do a turtle spin. You have to give it time and wait til you get alittle strong. I am a very skinny guy and I can pull it off.
