Problem with Freezes/strength/balance - 04-29-2005, 07:57 AM

Hi all,

I started bboying about a month ago and I have the toprock, the sixstep and the helicopter down. But now comes the problem, whenever I try to freeze (even the simple babyfreeze) I can't get my feet off the ground and like balance/keep my body on my arms. My arms simply cannot carry my body for some reason.

I have been going 2/3 times a week to the gym for the last half year.. so I thought that had to help a little.. But it seems it doesn't.. I'm not overweight or underweight either...

Amyone got any help for me?

^^ shutup biarch.
And to newien: keep trying to do freeezes, do turtles and handglides to build up wrist strength and for airfreezes practise handstands alot, doing or trying to do the actual freeze helps build those little muscles you need to do those freezes, going to the gym you cant really build those smaller muscles as fast or in some cases even at all, practising the actaul frezzes or trying to do them helps loads more than going to the gym.

everyone goes through that problem, but you have to keep practice to get your body conditioned to the feeling of supporting yourself on your hands. going to the gym doesn't help much. the only excercises i recommend are dips and handstand pushups. everything else is just practice.

it's good to record yourself practicing too, because you have bad form. if you had good form, it would be a lot easier. make sure your forearms are pointing up and down and make right angles with your wrist. it helps if your forearm is at right angles with your upper arm (humerous) too. but that's just for optimal weight distribution, and it's something that will come with time.
