Hmm, need a dash of help. Speed related. - 04-26-2005, 04:36 PM

My toprock is fine but when I get down into 6step and the likes I get so slow, being 6'5" and 275lbs doesn't help, I know. But what can I do to get the speed up a little. Looks kinda lame, like slowmotion of someone else. Anyone have any tricks of the trade to boost my speed.

uh...my teacher always told me to not land flat. Like dont use palms, use your fingers. And dont let your feet stay on the floor for long, and the key thing is practice...sorry i can't say much XD...Only reason i can do sixstep at normal speeds is because of alot of practice

one thing people have told me is to stay on my toes, kinda like any other sort of faster movement with legs in any athletic dealie. Then of course you have to get used to the movement itself, to a point where it feels natural, where if you were on the ground and if you had to get up, chances are high that you would do a step from the 6-step, then work your way up slowly at going faster, go a little fast get used to it, then go faster, but dont forget you also want to be with the music, and you want to look smooth, which can be hard to complish. But then dont forget to work on it both ways, so you can start mixing it up, coming up with some style.

Bboying is what you make it.
