well,

don't worry about putting out everything you have. If you're freestyling stuff or you're in the cypher, just let the music dictate it and make it flow .. you're dancing remember

If you have sets, then it's not a problem, because then .. just do the sets.

ohh man, the other day i was inspired or some shit and i jotted down 3 fresh sets in my little girly notebook. i had had the sets all memorized, but then when i went to session, i start my set then i totally blanked out. how sad hahah.

it's cool about my sets, they're in secret code and no one can understand them, since i have my own names for techs.

I think that once you TRULY know a move you wont ever forget it, but you should still practise everything you know once in a while so you dont get rusty... like you shouldn't have to just hope that something will work..

lol i have the forgetting problem all the time... my mind blanks out and i forget all the footwork i know and end up either flailing or being really repetitive

Write it down, draw diagrams, video yourself - 05-05-2005, 06:45 AM

Do this ASAP after learning a routine, then you won't forget. As easy as that

I do forget it sometimes too... I can't practice everyday coz of the college... think that's nice to put a list somewhere you see always or, if u can, a photo......

p.s.: I'll try to do it too..

true true, keep practicing until you could do your moves in your sleep, literally... you could do it without thinking and it becomes second-nature to you when you jump on a dance floor. Just keep practicing, and you won't have to worry about regurgitating what you learned, it'll literally just come naturally.

And that is the point you want to reach. Bboying doesn't look good if all you are trying to do is remember what moves you could do on the dance floor. It should look spontaneous, fluid, and most importantly, NATURAL. The best way to remember what you could do is to keep practicing what you have.
