will this handstand thing work? - 02-28-2005, 06:12 PM

after lots of thinking, it became painfully obvious to
me.........a handspring is what it implies....jumping
off one's hands/arms which is very similar to jumping
off one's legs. however to be able to jump off one's
hands your arms must be close to or as strong as your
legs. so, for me, two options came to mind. 1) lose
all the excess fat 2) train my arm muscles to
withstand my bodyweight

1) seems easier but actually is harder for me to do

so 2) is what i must do.

ive come up with
the idea of each day, at least once, holding a
handstand for as long as i can and recording the time
each day spent in one and improving that time to make
my arms stronger

just wondering if this will work................

Moves Learned

1. Kip up
2. rolling kip up
3. tornado kick

ok, you don't need strength to fhs (front handspring) if that is what you are talking about, just technique.
Just swing yourlegs like you do to get into a handstand but swing really hard and whatever........... just practice it, you get the hang of it.

The good don't show off............
