Easier moves - 02-20-2005, 09:04 PM

hey, i jst wondered what are the moves i should start learning to use. i dont really have any down yet (well, cept toprock) and i'm workin 6-step and turtle freeze until i can hang glide. should i be practicing somethin else rite now, or is that a good start?

some people say that can't dance, i tell them to watch MTV. apparently, if you can move your ass without movin your feet, you can dance.

First of all, make sure you MASTER toprock and footwork. Don't just take a few days, decide it's pretty good, and move on in a hurry to get power moves. A shitty toprock and footwork can ruin an otherwise good set. So I recommend spending a lot of time working on the very basics. Then maybe move to some freezes (air chair, air baby) because these are moves that if you practice them enough, they WILL come together. Or if you want to go to power next, work on mills.

there is no way to master footwork.. u just get better at it. my advise is to work mostly on your footwork. also learn som freezs like mayb a baby freeze or pop from a turtle into a handstand

no matter what you do always set som time aside to practice your foot work, even if it just dancing to one song...you would be surprised how many bboys lose battles over foowork

right now i've been workin on my toprock, which oddly enough looks alot like my fighting style in my karate class, 6step and 4step, and mixin those two up, i can go from 6step into a pretty good baby freeze, and once i get all of that down, i wanna really start to practice my hangglide

well if you can hold a baby as long as you want then your wrist should be strong enough to do a handglide.

well do handglide freezes instead and trying putting one hand (balance hand) up when ur comfortable in that postion. u dont have 2 b able to do a 1 handed handglide freeze 2 do a handglide, it just builds up ur wrist and gets it used to the weight and balance.
