well, im quoting from this web site:

http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache...hl=en&ie=UTF-8

the quote is this:

Quote:
rave dancing's roots are from breakin and popin...go rent breakdancing the movie. and basically from there make your own shit up..or go and watch kids and then go home and try it...go to a rav stand in the corner get over the fear and just try th shit..if someone cares that you cant dance they are fucked in the head...so that is all the more why you shouldnt care if you look dumb..like the guy said before try some added toxic elements ...they will help or at least seem like it

there isn't really a "rave dancing" style... you might see a lot of candy kids nordic tracking and doing liquid or some funk styles, but there in my experience "rave dancing" is whatever you happen to be doing *at a rave* whether its bboyin, poppin, boogaloo or the chicken dance...
the part about not giving a shit what people think and taking drugs if it helps is good advice if you're still insecure or 15 or something
junglist stomping and hardstepping might borrow some toprock footwork but it's more closely related to ragga dances if any style at all

ian't raving when you take those dumb ass glow stick and pretend to do something cool, and it only looks cool when you are high on X because pretty much anything glowing looks cool then especailly if its moving fast.

Just for future reference, I have never met anyone who was a seasoned raver who agreed that you can "rave". In fact most ravers dont even call raves "raves".

And for christs sakes, "I know how to rave" is not a sentence. Raving is not an action. Ok it is in the English dictionary but not @ all having any relation to do with raves.

As for people dancing @ raves...I've been to more than...well lets say I started when I was 15 and im 19 now. The only original thing I see @ raves that they invented as far as I know is nordic tracking..you'll see people liquiding but not very well. Most people are to fucked up to care ne ways.

crapbreaker - 11-18-2003, 01:42 PM

your name says it......get a life. and yes i have been to parties although anyone who is older than 19 doesnt call them raves, bc that is only what little candy kids who aren't old enough to go to real clubs call them. in fact i have seen several world class dj's including carl cox, john digweed and dj tiesto. sadly though when you are a wee bit older than yourself mr crapbreaker you don't rave dance with glowsticks and gloves anymore. so yes i know quite a bit more about electronic music and the culture than you do wee crapbreaker so you had better be careful about what you say.
