Redoing my Foundations.. help? -
11-07-2009, 01:06 PM
So I've been breaking for a couple months, (maybe like 6-7?) and I just recently realized my foundation sucks ass. SO. Im going to be redoing my footwork for a while. I've been watching videos and practicing slow, trying to get the form, but anyone have any tips? Or like a specific progression or like program they used to get their foundations really top notch?

just do tons of steps extremely slowly, then after a week of lots of practice when they start to feel more comfortable slowly get faster and link them together. (but keep doing the slow form drills also).

That's what I did before, but I don't have a mirror or anything, and now they look really bad.. and I also want to do redo most of my toprock too..so how should I go about doing it? and can you give examples of drills?

i don't have a mirror, so sometimes i'll video it to see if I have any form errors. ask another bboy too.
the slow drills are simply to do the step but very slowly and make sure each part is correct. you probably didnt do it enough lol. toprock a mirror is more important... or use anything reflective like something on the wall so you can see how your arms look. but when you learn new steps first make sure you have each part of the step, then do it half speed to music, then do it full speed while watching how it looks. other than that to get it better in general the main thing to do is toprock a lot |
