one hand stand - 10-19-2009, 10:19 AM

hi guys,
i always want to do hand stands like Bboy Darkness.
i can do hand stand easily, then to go to a hand stand i close my legs and try to move them forward and to the right.
just like in the picture.

http://www.bboy.org/gallery/showphot...&ppuser=120185

but i can't hold it for more than fraction of seconds.one day i held it for a sec i don't know how.
i don't know if i'm going the right track for learning hand stand or if their is another easier way,or should i just keep doing what i do, and hopefully reach my goal.
thanks.

I do not try to dance better than anyone else. I only try to dance better than myself.

i've heard and this is just for a one handed hand-stand where you grab your leg with the hand not holding you up, i've heard and experienced that it often helps to look out to the side and not straight down at the ground. i don't know exactly why this helps but it does. oh and keep trying. you'll get it soon

try to learn the open legged one hand balances first. slowly transfer your weight by going on the fingertip of your opposite hand. ex. if hand balancing on right, make your left hand go on fingertips. then slowly lift the hand up once you feel balanced. good luck!!!
