Hey need help with turtle freeze - 07-01-2009, 08:15 AM

hey guys, im new to this, and i have been practicing turtle freezes for the last two weeks. Just wondering, is there a certain direction your hands are suppose to face? and also, atm it feels like that my forearms are too short to keep my body off the ground, any ideas? thanks in advance

your hands should be facing to the left and right
when you go up in the freeze, you should push with your hands and keep yourself up with your abs

lol and it may sound funny but also clamp (tense back and cheek muslces) your but cheeks togather nd that will help you stay up longer withough your head on the floor... thats how I got it nd trust me uve had enough practise maybe your technique isnt quite right yet, once u get that it will be ultra easy for u since youve practised alot

do leg lifts and sit ups. Strengthen your abs and keep practicing. its like in karate when you constantly punch makiwara boards, eventully your knuckles toughen up. well, same goes for your stomach.

7 mintue ab routine. Do it 3-4 times a week. Feel the burn.

I found that with turtle and handglide freezes, it was best to practice them in short bursts. Don't try to spend an hour on them in the beginning--you might hurt yourself through strain. Practicing the move helped me more than ab exercises, though if you normally never have worked out your ab and ab flexor muscles, it'd help a lot if you leg lifts or planks.
