My friend taught me a trick which is to tense your abs during the turtle freeze, so it pushes your whole body up higher. Unfortunately, I can't seem to tense my abs and breathe at the same time, but it really does help a lot for me.

alot of problems people have with handglide/turtle freeze is you dont breathe, One because of the stress yu are pulling on yur muscles lifting yourself, and 2 your not use to it. SO BREATHE! also stretch nothing else to it, i recommend you learn how to handglide first though
