so i would really appreciate it if you guys/girls could give me some tips and pointers on the basics |

Don't tell them handstand. It's not really necessary. Most of the breakers I know can't even hold a handstand for more than 2 seconds, in which case it's more like a stall rather than a handstand. I myself can only hold for a maximum of 5 seconds cuz the balance is difficult to master. Besides, nobody really breaks with full handstands as part of their arsenal. You don't even need handstands to learn to do 90's, eclipses, inverts/hollowbacks. You might need it to get over the fear of doing any of those moves though. And you might need it to learn to control balance later on for one-hand handstands.
Anyway yeah learn all those other basic moves. Handstands are optional. They help, but aren't as important for beginners. |
