Okay so,
I am in LOVE with the idea of toprocking and freezes like, I can toprock for about..6-7 songs at a time? and never get bored xD but when I start doing footwork.. I unno, I guess I just get kinda .. meh. :\ and if you tell me to just look for more inspiration stuff I already watch ALOT of vids on bboy born and them :x so what can I do to keep more focused on footwork? |

it depends on what you plan to do, if you plan on competing then you gotta learn footwork anyways.
imho, you shouldn't push yourself too hard, otherwise you're gonna end up doing sumthing that you don't wanna do (in this case being the footwork), and naturally it probably wont come out that great cuz you're forcing yourself to do something you don't like. you can try to influence your footwork, with the same ideas you have with your toprocks. don't just watch the well known ppl who do footwork, sometimes you'll see 1 thing that looks nice from sum unknown person and you can make it your own, and as you keep collecting certain things from numerous ppl, all those ideas will combine into your own version of footwork, and you'll like that footwork because it's what you wanted. when you enjoy it you will do so much better than forcing yourself when you don't like it, so have fun when playing around with new ideas. |

You guys should really be able to name people with good footwork that aren't from BC one or Korea... Its kind of sad/depressing if you can't...
Here's a short list for you. Puzzles Bridge Ken Swift Mike Murda Lego Maegus Storm Smurf You'll get 100 more if you put just the minimal amount of time into looking for them. |

Although it IS good to be happy and passionate about one aspect (i'm with you on the toprock loving), make sure you don't deny any other part of b-boying.
For instance, for the last 6 months i've been working on toprock/footwork. My freezes fell short, and my sets usually have close to the same endings. Practice everything, really. Practice power too; if I had gotten windmills back then who knows what I'd be doing now, but I didn't. So I'm working on them now. But, enjoy yourself! Toprock is definitely something that's fun and expressive. Just giving a fair warning, man. ![]() For some good lovin' foundation, you'll want to look up REDFOOT. Definitely my favorite bboy, because he has sick and fast foundational footwork. And it's faaaast. |
