The legendary rapper was treated for a fractured hand and dehydration, after his right hand swelled up and became painful during the last 15 minutes of his set, at the Toad’s Place nightclub.

"Let this be an example as to how we stop the violence," KRS-One said.

During his stay at the hospital, KRS-One was urged to postpone all previously scheduled appearances until he rehydrates and his fractured hand heals.

Despite his request to not charge the fan for the incident, the KRS-One’s management team and the staff of the nightclub advised him to have the fan arrested for legal purposes related to the postponements.

KRS-One’s New Haven performance was one of a string of appearances the rapper made during multi-city tour in support of his Stop the Violence Movement.

The outing, which includes stops in some of the nation’s roughest neighborhoods, is geared toward promoting KRS-One’s message of nonviolence.

Prior to coming to New Haven, the rapper visited Crane High School in Chicago, as well as released his "Self-Construction" single on the city’s Hot 92.3 radio station.

A press conference promoting peace was also held as KRS-One appeared with Illinois State Representative John Fritchey.

The following is a list of postponed KRS-One Stop the Violence Movement tour dates.

The rapper expressed his disappointment as he apologized to fans for missing the dates:

I don't see how someone can get a fractured hand and dehydration from getting hit by a thrown water bottle.

Here's how it all went down-
After a crowd-pleasing preformance, KRS was extremely exhausted and wanted to finish the concert early. The crowd being great fans to him understood and also clearly saw why KRS would end it short hence his sweat-dripping head and palms.
Though one person in the audience wanted more, he demanded more from the Legend. He yelled out over a megaphone, "KRS, if you're the greatest, you will continue!". KRS ignored his comment and continued to thank the audience for coming out. "KRS! I fucking want more!" The angry fan roared this time, "I will hate you forever if you stop!!" The indignant fan waved his plastic water bottle at him like a pitchfork in a witch hunt.
KRS-One had enough of this person's bickering. KRS looked to his left at the security guards and nodded his head. The two guards quickly ran to the fan and tackled him to the ground. One guard quickly to his feet dragged the fan away while the second lied on his legs to keep him from jerking around. The fan fought back. He used every last strength in his body to resist the guards, but it was enough.
The fan suddenly remembed. The bottle.
As a last act of his commotion, the angered fan shot the bottle from his hand toward KRS. The bottle spinning viciously in the air even creating a loud whistling sound.
Spotting the bottle, KRS was stunned by the fan's act and extended his arms out and put his hands up to protect his face. KRS shut his eyes and hoped he would block the spinning bullet. But his hands weren't strong enough. The spinning bottle smashed into his hands causing them to bend backwards and an eventual fracture. But this wasn't the last injury. The bottle continued his flight and struck his head. Satisfied, the fan happily let the guards drag him away.

Dude that's freakin epic. I wish everything could be like this. I slowly realize that my comment was weak. Dissatisfied of my own thoughts of my cheesiness, I slowly move my hand for one last strength to click the submit reply. It clicks, and I see the screen anxiously loading.
