BOBBY VALENTINO TAKES SHOTS AT NE-YO!

Music fans have witnessed every type of beef in the Hip Hop genre from rappers vs rappers, producers vs rappers, deejay’s vs record labels and every other possible combination you could think off.

The fad has jumped ship to R&B seemingly with singer Bobby Valentino vs his record label and rival crooner Ne-Yo. Valentino has recently expressed his displeasure with Def Jam Records and has accused them of unfairly putting the interests of the So Sick hit maker before his.

“I think Ne-Yo’s the face of the label and, of course, by him being the face of the label, he gets a little bit more. I see he gets a lot of extra support, a lot of bells and whistles. Sometimes, people need those things to put them over the top.” Said Valentino.

“My album, you know what it is. When you see me at the shows, you know what it’s about. There’s nothing sugar-coated about me. Not saying that there’s something sugar-coated about Ne-Yo, but, it’s all good.”

THE GAME AND AKON UNDER FIRE IN AUSTRALIA!

Rapper The Game and R&B singer Akon's upcoming appearance at the annual "Rock tha Block" concert in Australia has come under fire, due to both artists' criminal records.

The Family Council of Victoria and the Australian Family Association voiced opposition to both artists appearances, claiming they were not good role models for local children.

"We don't really need people from the criminal end of town acting as heroes up on stages for our young people to admire," AFA national secretary Gabrielle Walsh told the Melbourne Herald.
Immigration officials in Australia are currently reviewing the Game's visa, while the department has not yet received an application for Akon.

Both artists have been in the headlines in recent months.

The Game was recently arrested and charged for allegedly brandishing a gun during a game of pick up basketball. He pled not guilty to the charges in June.
The rapper is also fighting criminal charges alleging that he impersonated a police officer, while riding in a cab in New York.

He also pled not guilty to those charges in January.

Akon drew controversy worldwide, when footage surfaced of the R&B singer dancing provocatively with an underage girl in Trinidad.
Verizon eventually dropped Akon as a spokesman due to the negative publicity the footage caused.

TUPAC'S MOM'S HOME, BURNED DOWN! 7-7-7?

The home of Afeni Shakur burned down last night (July 6) in Robeson County, North Carolina.

According to authorities, the house caught on fire around 7:00 p.m. and was declared a "total loss."

No one was home and no injuries were reported in the fire, which took three departments to bring under control.
Afeni Shakur is the mother of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. She spent a small portion of her childhood in Lumberton where the Shakur's family heritage started in the United States, as former slaves.

The ranch home sat on a 56-acre farm where Shakur is growing USDA-certified crops and raising various animals.

AFROMAN'S FIRST FILM! Yes, he's still alive.

Afroman, best known for his 2001 hit "Because I Got High," is work on his first film -- a spoof the 1995 film, "Waiting To Exhale," which starred Angela Bassett and Whitney Houston.

The title of the film will be "Waiting To Inhale," also the title of his forthcoming film, according to the Associated Press.

The artist didn't divulge much info on the spoof movie, aside from that he will supply "all the key ingredients" and that it should be completed by August.

Aside from the new projects, Afroman reminisced about his 2001 marijuana anthem and why it became so big.

"It was just a song that everybody could relate to," he told the AP.

But before everyone was singing along with him about missing daily things, because they had gotten high, he revealed that the record had locally gotten radio spins for years, but it wasn't until he inked a deal with Universal Records that it became a mainstream hit.

The song went on to appear on a few movie soundtracks including Kevin Smith's movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back," and as of recent years, he's enjoyed success with it as a ringtone.

Afroman started the independent label, Hungry Hustler Records, in 2004, after leaving Universal. To date, he hasn't been able to reach the success he had with "Because I Got High."

HUEY VS. NELLY!

The latest rap battle isn't coming out of the East, West or South. No, it's coming from the Midwest now -- between rising St. Louis star Huey and the dude to put the Lou on the map, Nelly.

As reported by Sohh.com, Huey -- who is enjoying success with his single Pop, Lock And Drop It" -- recently released a track aimed at Nelly called "Down, Down, Baby" and he confirms the target.

According to the rapper, he targeted Nelly after the platinum-plus rapper refused to work with him on his debut release, Notebook Paper.

"I'm only cool with Chingy and Jibbs, everybody else can kiss my ass," Huey told Sohh. "Nelly is disrespectful and arrogant. His head is as big as this f--ing table I'm sitting at. He's on some arrogant, unsupportive bullsh--."

The rapper explained that Jive Records suggested that he collaborate with Nelly, but when he approached him in a St. Louis club to try to get the rapper in the studio, he was disrespectful.

"'Look here dirty, it's not gonna happen. Especially with this being your first album, it's not gonna happen,'" Nelly told Huey during their conversation.

After that, Huey fired at Nelly with the diss track. Since then, Nelly has responded back with a single he release called "Cut It Out," feature Pimp C and Sean P. During Nelly verse, he says, "Got a Buick that’s green, the same color my snot / Lil Daddy you ain't the sh--, you might as well get off the pot / There's a new St. Louis? Yeah that's funny / but I'mma stick with the old, the new don't make enough money."

According to Huey, Nelly is a hater and can't stand his success.

"When he found out I got my deal, he didn't congratulate or anything," said the rapper. "It's crazy because I can go out of town and get love, but when I go home I can't get the same respect? But he's small talk."

iPHONE ACTIVATION CRACKED, NETWORK UNLOCKED 'WITHIN 1 WEEK!'

In other words, iPhone might soon be working with Tmobile, Verizon, or any other network- not just AT&T. Assuming you have the $600 to throw away on this phone.

Hackers are claiming that they will be able to unlock the Apple iPhone within a week, allowing the handset to be used with any carrier. AT&T has exclusive rights to the iPhone in the United States.
'DVD Jon' Lech Johansen, the hacker who cracked DVD protection, claims to have already come up with a method allowing the handset to be activated. While this does not allow phone calls it does activate the Wi-Fi and iPod functions.

"We believe it will be easy. We are privately aware many of the Apple iPhone engineers came from other handset manufacturers, and we understand their design techniques fairly well. Easy to us means inside one week," said one hacker.

BOX OFFICE NUMBERS FOR "TRANSFORMERS!"

The DreamWorks Pictures/Paramount Pictures co-production TRANSFORMERS pulled in an unheard of 4.3% increase from Tuesday 7/3 to Wednesday 7/4.

In 4,011 theatres, we are estimating $29,100,000 for Wednesday 7/4/07.

We also have a revised final number for Tuesday 7/3/07 of $27,900,000. Our cumulative estimated box office to date is $65,700,00.

This is the biggest July 4th gross in history, beating SPIDERMAN 2 ($21,955,000 on 7/4/04) and the biggest Wednesday non-sequel of all time (beating THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST with $26,556,000 on Wednesday 2/25/04).

This represents the biggest box office in history for a movie on a Tuesday, beating PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST at $15,731,919.

The company’s next target film, is the HARRY POTTER flick that comes out Wednesday.
