Hip Hop News.... 13/8/09 -
08-13-2009, 03:08 AM
There's been a fair bit of commotion and shizzle happening in the hip hop scene lately..
and with Gonzo being inactive we haven't been kept up to date lol************************************************* Raekwon (his affiliates more specifically) vs Joe Budden The beef between wu tang and buddens has heated up again. Joe made a broadcast after he was hit a couple of times in the face after the Los Angeles Rock The Bells festival. "For the people just joining me, I just wanna let everybody know that I'm alright," Budden said, while holding an ice pack to his face. "Raekwon didn't actually hit me. We was in the middle of talking about what we was actually talking about, and them niggas just came in like Storm Troopers." The whole situation occurred because Budden apparently dissed Method Man. The two of them however sorted their shit out, but raekwon didn't seem to forgive. Joe mad another vlog and challenged Rae to a 1-on-1 ....Rae hasn't responded as of this time. OB4CL2 is coming out soon....coincidence much? lol ************************************************* Jail Time for Rapping N.W.A came out with the song "fuck tha Police" in 1988. No legal action taken. Rapper Antavio Johnson however is facing 2 years for making a song with many similarities to N.W.A's street hit. Freedom of speech seems to have found it's limit, in this case it is Antavio's song "Kill Me A Cop". The American Civil Liberties Union, which is backing Johnson, maintained that "We [shouldn't] punish bad thoughts in America." However, not all speech is protected under the Constitution. Florida state law deems it a third-degree felony to harm or threaten to harm public servants, their families, or people they care about. ************************************************* Eminem: It Ain't Me Eminem has been involved in many beefs thorughout his career: there was Benzino, Evidence, Everlast, Royce as well as the more recent songs " The Warning" and "Baghpipes from Baghdad" that took a shot at mariah and nick cannon. A new song, "Die already" aimed at Soulja Boy was released a few days ago and it was thought that eminem was behind it. "Wow," he wrote Monday (August 3) evening. "Whoever made 'Die Already' really does sound like me. But it ain't." (Eminem's Twitter)" ************************************************* D.O.A No, not the game, "Death of Autotune". This song was released a while back now as a single for the upcoming Bluprint 3 by Jay-z. "Antares Audio Technologies, the company that created Auto-Tune, revealed to the New York Times that sales of Auto-Tune have in fact increased since the release of Jay Z’s “D.O.A.”. “The Jay-Z controversy is great,” Marco Alpert, vice president of marketing at Antares, told the New York Times. “We couldn’t buy P.R. like this.” Seems like this is another fighting battle jay ain't gonna win (Ether anyone :P) ************************************************* Recent releases worth a mention: Slaughterhouse- Self titled Mixtape Messiah 7- Chamillionaire Holy are you- Rakim( single) Fabolous- Loso's Way Rumours: *Rakim's "Seventh Seal" is scheduled for release in Fall *Scarface is making pornos? *Chris and Rhianna back together? * Ludacris new album will be called Ludaversal yeah that's basically all i have time for. nowhere near Gonzo's standard but it will have to do http://www.hiphopdx.com/messageboard...ic.php?t=46186 http://showhype.com/story/joe_budden...tes_hip_hop / http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/i...p-killing-song http://www.sohh.com/2009/08/eminem_a..._soulja_b.html http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/i...uto-tune-sales http://24hourhiphop.com/hip+hop+Rumo...igned%3F/5116/ |

Cuz doing porn means he gets paid to fuck. Plus his career hasn't been very good, especially in recent years.

I'll just start off by saying the majority rappers today have no intention of supporting hip-hop culture. If you don't support the culture, then you aren't really hip-hop.
