Post the untold b-girl history!!!! - 08-10-2008, 02:57 PM

well i thought i would share this history lesson to alot of new people on the org
bcuz i know alot of you girls pretty much just started maybe this year or 3 years ago
but b-girl history dates back to the early 70's with the first offical all girl crew called
the "zulu queens" these's ladies were the first to pretty much do the top rocks lil burns here & there but they weren't into flares headspins etc...it wuz more of stylish
point of view not getting dirty on the floor you gotta remember this is the early stages in the b-girl movement so it wuz like a party thing hanging out calling guy's

out for fun, one of the members i can remember off my head wuz sha-rock from a group called "the funky four plus 1 more" she later became a female rapper and became big in the rapp world back then..then there asia 1 she true skool like you
dont know asia 1 meet ez-rock out here in california back in 1995 she wuz also a zulu queen from the san diego chapter! she pretty much paved the way for alot of girls out here battling and traveling the world with the rock steady crew in the early 90's with crazy leggs & so on she pretty much still breaks today she more on the mother tip bcuz she has a lil girl to raise but she still down to represent..then there another b-girl by the name "honeyrockwell" from new york very down to earth b-girl & full time mother she got down with the rock steady crew in the early 90's she tour the world also and went to jam on the groove tour and also she is down with 7 gems the ken swift chapter there are 100 of b-girlz i could speak on but i just wanted to write quick lil history for all the b-girls that never of of them even tho they may be order than you you still gotta repect the game with out them there would be no foundation for b-girls to talk about peace!

thanks..always good to know who paved the way for us bgirls. We have to fight for respect now but i cant imagine how challenging it was for them to get out there, represent, and gain respect. Big ups to those legendary bgirls.

Yeah, the Zulu Queens still sounds a fuckin strong name. A1 told me some nice histories too when she cames to Brazil, was really good, but I prefer that she counts by herself one day ;]
Thank u to bring it up
