I'll have to go in to my "vault" and dig some jewels out...lol.

Mikeyice, thanks for your work on the site, it's one I always come back to.

Pex, I was definately a fan of you and NYCB. One of my B-Girl names in the day was Pink Ice....(Icey Ice was one of my favorite b-boys and I always sported pink). I also have an original KTel Poster in my vault too. I went to a RSC Ann. years ago, and was hoping to meet some of you to get it signed, think London and another new member signed, actually Frosty signed it cause he was standing there with them and even though he was RSC.... No matter how cheesy the products were then, the difficulty of finding any hip-hop related where I lived...makes me still consider it quite a cherished possession. Peace.
dope to have true skool b-girl on here!

Thanx Mikeyice, guess that comes with age. I wasn't as fortunate as some of these kids to have so many outlets to experience hip-hop. People always thought it was just a fad for me, because I was a female. I'd go to shows and I still got dismissed cause I wasn't "known", but I was never in it for the spotlight, cause if you got skills it'll find you. Ironically till this day, I have run into people I haven't seen in over 25 years and they'll remember me for exactly that....my dancing, especially my "breakdancing" as they always call everything (even if I was popping or locking). Anyway, I hope they'll still have a love for hip-hop like I do when they can no longer b-boy. In my eyes, that's part of having a genuine appreciation for what it is.

true that i am in the same boat with you but your just the female version of me
when i say of "me" meaning you love hiphop just as much as i do i wuz there
pretty much from the start out here on the west coast. evon mendoza one of
the first female b-girls from the west coast she wuz down with "shake city rockers"
later became "air force crew" in 1983 the west coast has mad mad history people
just stop talking about it. but i think you should spread some knowledge to the
younger girls on here they need a good role model somebody from there point
of view. i will help to continue this thread with you so all can read positive comments!

MikeyIce, thanks for your comments. I got blessed with hip-hop in 1979, so I'm sure me and her got parallel stories. I'm coo if you close this thread...I'll just post when my thoughts are applicable.

I know them and seen them around but I usually session with BBK (bang beat kids) since they're mostly from Mira Mesa. Then on Friday nights I session at Pacific Arts Dance studio when I get the chance, it's where they host all the 'battle for the pacific' jams. I need to start hitting up the epicentre since it's right next to my house, I guess my big mistake was missing out on E-Swifts bday bash over there last Saturday. =(

I'm down to sesh wherever though, have any places in mind?
