Smile stories for new bgirl? - 07-12-2007, 03:19 PM

Hi my name's Yeonsil and I just started breakdancing and I was wondering if anybody can give me their story on how it was like when they started breakdancing and all that. Like what was the first thing they learned, how long it took, and just any kind of backdrop to breakdancing.

Thank you

Hey im bored so my story ^^

Uhmm ok, i was always a little interested in breakin. First time was probably when i was like 5 years old doing forwards rolls to the Run DMC - "Its like that" video. Ironically 8 years later that same video brought me into it. And then luckily a few months later an after school club for breakin started. My dad was a funkstyler and my mom a judo brown belt so they encourage me to go on with this all the way ^^ uhmm yeah... a lot more to all this but hey i got bored lol.

ANYWAYS we wana know your lil story haha.

It takes an athlete to breakdance, but an artist to be a bboy.

Cool Cool THx for the input there well i was exposed to breakdancing when i was a baby b/c my family's originally from Seoul, S.Korea so yeah u can bet there are at least one group of people always breakdancing in the park or other public places, so I always thought it was cool. But I never got around to start learning instead i took lil bit of ballet, then joined school dance team which was more like cheer/choreographed dances then later I started teaching myself hip-hop.

And now since its summer and all I thought i'd give myself a new challenge and I started very recently and currently working on making 6step cleaner and trying to learn more than the basic of top rock
