This may seem like an insult but it's not ( I would never insult you dear).

But I would recommend starting off checking out The Idiot's Guide to A Great Upper Body. I have it myself. Its a small paper back but it has tons of informtaion on your anatomy, what excerices to focus on for whatever your goal is, how to do them etc.

In fact in the book the address what you said about you want to get strenth but not overly muscular. They give alot of ways to do that.

Heres a link

Amazon.com: The Pocket Idiot's Guide to a Great Upper Body (Pocket Idiot's Guides): Books: Ph.D., Tom Seabourne

It's really cheap, $9.95. Or you could pick it up at any bookstore near you. You might even find some other things on the subject your looking for.

If you want I could post you some excerpts from the book so you can get a gist of it. Just let me know.

Oh yeah as for the hair idk what to tell you. I generally just put my hair up in a ponytail or bun when I'am doing physical activites. Maybe someone else can help you with that.

yeah, modified push ups and regular pushups are good. Dips and lat pull downs are also a good excercise. Basicly Any resistence type excercise is good for what ur trying to do. Plus you can either do strictly your body wieght or mix it up with dumbells... light ones of course since your just trying to tone urself.

I used to be a huge fitness fanatic but I've slacked off lately and remembering everything is hard right now. I'am sure some of the other b-girls have tons of tips though.

oh yeah Hollister has bennies for $5 =)

Core strength... that's how you become strong and stay skinny, but then again I don't believe in working out to bboy. If you really practice hard the strength will come with your practice, I can say that from experience.

Beanies are the best way to save your hair. There are other ways to help but really beanies/hats are your best bet.

I'm just another up-and-comer paying dues.
I think I'm possibly the slowest learner on all of bboy.org haha.

sorry didn't read all (skimmed)- i'm at work:

high reps low weight to work on toning and muscle strength and endurance vs. bulking... :]

and do cardio to burn the fat as you build the muscle otherwise it just becomes larger

Yeah I heard that using not heavy weights but lot of reps makes you gain strength and give you "cuts" but not massive muscles... I KNOW i have little to none upper body strength beceause I can't even do a push up, alhtough I'm surprised I can practice handstand and Invert with not much problem, so I decided to gain some strength on my upper body and arms.

Currently I'm doing at least 100 sit ups(=[ im getting lazy with those... I used to do at least 500 but not anymore) with 3 lbs dumbells on each hand... Hold that close to your chest like you are holding exercise ball. And other workout that involves those 2 Three pound dumbells... They are not heavy to give you bulky manly muscle yet they seem to help me with gaining bit strength

Uhmm... geeesh i have D in PE but hell i know that, if you lift small amounts many times and keep on doing this your muscle size will not increase BUT you will get muscle definition... My breakin teacher does 200 push ups throughout the day 20/30 at a time... and he's arms are skinny but he has power behind them... so i dunno how much that helped... feel free to shoot me ^^
