Nice guide...So you're saying any of that stuff (Uprocks, Downrocks, etc.) is good stuff to teach a bgirl that's just starting out? That's the only thing I'd really suggest adding...a question like "What moves did you learn first?"

This really helped, especially the warm-up and cool down advice. I now have a more practical application for my yoga, thanks ^_^ I'm interested in knowing what you guys think are the best moves to start out on, too ^_^

toprock
uprock
downrock (footwork)- 6 step, helicopter's, cc's
turtle freeze
baby freeze
headstands
bridges
all these will give some basic knowelge of bboy dance styles
also you can practice for the sake of balance:
handstands, 2 and 1 handed
cartwheels which will give you an idea of the form nedded for nikes and lkicks
more footwork variations ie reverse helicopters, 12 step etc
intermediate: (once you have the mere basics)
forearm freezes nike, lkick and piked variations
nike kicks and lkicks
pikes
chairs, airchairs
freeze transitions
make up your own freezes
go on to power and more advanced moves
spins of various sorts
headspins, 1990's, elbow spins
mills etc
turtle (moving)
swipes, headswipes etc
dont push me cuz i'm close to the edge, i'm tryin not to lose my head

heyy bgirls wassup...
well, i'm very knew to bdance... but its kinda cool that it gives me the determination to learn..
btw, i'm sondering if this forum is still active..
anyways, i really wanna ask something...
since i have just started bdancing, i'm wondering what must i do first to obtain the handstand skill??
if i'm not flexible enough, will i be able to learn bdance??
and moreover, there is no dancing course near my area, so i have to learn by myself (i guess).. i know its kinda of hard but, is there a safest way to learn???
and btw, what is moonwalk?? how can i learn it?
thx a million...
i'm really2 a newbie for breakdance but i really wanna learn..... so help me outt guyss..

that was a great guide! it really inspired and motivated me to want to practice more. but i was just wonderin, light weight athletic shoes like cross trainers are okay for breakin? i dont really know wat shoes to wear and i been practicin wit no shoes which probably isnt good because when it comes time to break with shoes i wont be used to it. but are those aight? thank you to everyone who had put their time and effort into this guide it really helped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad this guide has helped you girls out. Yohanna, I would refer to the MOVES forum if you haven't yet. You should be able to find everything you need on executing moves including the moonwalk in there.
Ghettogirl- those shoes should be fine but the question is...how do you feel breaking/dancing in them? Are they supportive or too flimsy? There's no "perfect" shoe. You'll find one that's right for you. Go to random stores and try random ones on and walk around in them, maybe toprock a little. You'll find some. My favorites are saucony's and adidas shelltoes.

My recomendation to alot of bgirls. IGNORE THIS POST!
Alot of the bgirls in this interview are WACK!
When i first came to this site i thought they were good, but i soon realised the truth.
Talk to DASHER or brownsuga or some of the better bboys!
I dont care if I come off as a hater, but if you wanna get good, talk to someone with SKILLS!
This whole interview is ridiculous, if you want to learn bgirling, then just go do it, dont bother with the whole females are as good as males mentality, it all comes down to training and the individual. Neither is greater, but you still have to practice.
Bgirls and bboys who think im hating, prove me to be wrong, show me your not wack as hell.
