Best Experience Ever - 10-27-2003, 05:07 AM

Hey, I posted this in the Word Up but I'm so extatic about it that I thought I would post it here.

Seriously, yesterday, I had one of those days where you think that it couldn't have gotten much better. Minneapolis was having a celebration of dance so I decided to become a part of what was being advertised by the bboys by the greatest thing to come to MN. I decided to see what was up.

So, I initially I got to see a discussion that was with Don Cambell(inventor of locking), Boogalo Sam (inventor of the funk style boogalo) and Rennie Harris (famous correographer). It was real ill to see what they had to say. If they come around to you, don't sleep. These cats love the dance more than I've ever known people ever to love something. I love the dance, they actually live it.

Then, I arrived at the bboy competition, ready to compete, and realized that no one was going to judge. Everyone thought that I would make a good judge, so I said OK. The other judge? Popmaster Fabel from the Rock Steady Crew!(actlikeyouknow) That was dope! He really respected what I had to say on the decisions and I really felt that he and I made good decisions.

Then me and my boys were invited to partake in the show that was taking place later on that evening. We got there and guess who was performing? Don Cambell, the Electric Boogaloos (Poppin Pete, Mr. Wiggles, Boogaloo Sam, Sugar Pop and Skeeter Rabbit) !!! They were so dope!! I really felt that all the dancing that I had ever partaken in was leading up to this. To meet all the innovators, pioneers, and inventors; it seemed too much.

The best actually was getting to bust in the circle with them and actually meeting them. Wiggles thought I was funny, thought I had a wierd but good style, and Skeet liked my graff that I had in my blackbook. I had a blast! Anybody that get's a chance to partake in something like this definitely should.

Once upon a time in Minneapolis,
Yo,
I damn near had to steal the show...

damn nice F Stylz!

Off the top of my head I'm not gonna say this is my BEST experience, but definitely one of them. This past friday I hit up Break Bash 2 in Brookline, Ma and I had an awesome time. It was definitely a small place, just a tiny community center, but the vibe was so chill and it was a pretty good turnout.

Highlights of my night: Beybo (Ground FX, Boston) was sick as hell. There was alot of other dope bboys, but he straight up rocked it. I took alot of pictures so once I go through and figure out who's who, I'll post them somewheres.

Also Brian Life, (www.brianlife.com) was there reppin'. He's such a good artist. I talked to him for a bit about flyers and album covers I've seen, and he was so chill.

Alright, just wanted to share a little.

One life one tribe one love one blood
Too much has been shed its time to rise above
You don’t have to understand it and you dont have to like it
But were much more powerful when we're UNITED
Ignorance fight it Knowledge embrace it
Have sympathy for people who too scared to change shit
Dont talk it just live it
Enjoy life absorb every minute
Quit placing the blame
Put your mind towards change
Hold the torch, light the flame, make a difference
One love one nation lets get uplifted

Nothing beats playing your bass and breakdancing to your fans...

Being the only 5'7(154) Korean guy in my town sux... it sure gets the girls tho...

I'm practicing 4hours everyday and I'm yet to see any difference yet...

Bass Guitar is my passion... but breakin' is what I am.

I guess that's an ok sig... ?
