Who cares about short hair ???? if they're doing it for the right reason, then let them... I can understand what your saying about doing it for the wrong reasons, then yeah get off the scene but i think alot of these bgirls are doing it because its fun and they can do it just as well as a bboy...so I let these bgirls be who they wanna be...oh yeah what about the bboys that are doin it for tha wrong reasons???trying to impress girls???
I'm on tha breaks.....literally....

Word,
There are those guys who do it to impress.
I want to be a b-girl because it looks good, I want to be a b-girl because I enjoy dancing and I want to try something new, breaking will be new to me.
I want to be a b-girl and I am hoping that my reasons are not the wrong reasons but they will stand for alot in the b-boying/b-girling world.
And I am not a les or bi, I dont think that stands for all the b-girls, some maybe but not all.
peace out
holla back

Hmm...
I had never experience the fact of being judge, more like respectet for it (positive reactions).
I had realize that something is more complicated for a female (strenght example), but there is such a thing called "traning"... he he...
I live in Denmark (Europe). The breaking culture isn´t that big "over here" and therefor I think we stick more together. My advice to all: Don´t give a damn...!!! but you can actully use the critize, for a more intensive and positive practing..
pleas reply...

Cool,
Even b-boys have to train, so yeah we have to train and besides it is possible for a b-girl to be able to have more strength than a b-boy.
And breaking is not just about the strength, there is more to it than just power, sure power moves look good, but any move is nothing without style, that is really important and I think a lot of breakers have forgotten about the importance of stlye, especially the guys, not all but a lot who place all their importance in power moves.
Holla back,
peace out

Nice chair Solo. And I like your hair too! Definitely stylish.
Where are you 2 from??(Cassy and Solo)
In regards to style and originality, I really don't believe in all the controversy between genders. Everybody's different. Some people are creative and got skill and some don't. I know alot of bboys who have style and alot who don't. I'm incredibly jealous of my boy Matt who has some amazing original foot work. Yet my b/f who's pretty good all around doesn't care so much about style. He just dances cuz he likes to period. Me-I try to be as creative as possible with every aspect of my dancing. I don't have power(which will come in time), but I have some really dope original top rock and my six step is pretty tight. Point is...everybody is different and at individual levels. Some girls may be better then some boys and vice versa. All depends on the person.
One life one tribe one love one blood
Too much has been shed its time to rise above
You don’t have to understand it and you dont have to like it
But were much more powerful when we're UNITED
Ignorance fight it Knowledge embrace it
Have sympathy for people who too scared to change shit
Dont talk it just live it
Enjoy life absorb every minute
Quit placing the blame
Put your mind towards change
Hold the torch, light the flame, make a difference
One love one nation lets get uplifted

You are right and you are wrong. I know a lot of guys who think girls who break tight. But there are those who say gurlz can break but we only should stick to foot work , rocks and freezes , that we don't usually do power. F that ! I'll bust power on any guy who says girls can't do it.
But it is also a respect thang too. I mean of course we will get respect because we rip the floor in a male populated thang. But sometimes we don't get the real respect we deserve. Instead of just givin us props cuz were gurls, I rather have props cuz I actually take the time and train and bust my maximus everyday to get better and cause I am a breaker. I've been breakin for about 4 years and I am proud of bein a b-girl and you should too. So big upps to all the gurls b-gurlin it.

You can do power? Nice...like what?
The only thing I'm gonna add, is in the end it all balances out. Girls are expected not to do power moves. Fine, right? But take a guy doing footwork.....then a girl doing the exact same footwork. The girl gets more propz. Shit, there was a time I was onstage in a talent show...and do to popular demand, I did a superman worm (Worm with no hands....I dunno why everyone likes it so much...lol). Got shitloads of cheering....then the NEXT time (At the finals), there was a girl with our group, that started to bust out a worm (A normal one....that I gotta say, was of pretty poor quality...it was like she was using all her strength to do it). Got MORE cheering than I did the first time....which there was no doubt in my mind that mine looked a load better (And the audience was the same size (The rest of the school), so it wasn't like, more people came to the finals. lol)
And then, there's power moves.....this is particularly among the bboy community. What's the showiest move you can think of?......let's jus for the sake of argument, say the best move is airflares (I know...it's not true, but jus for argument). If I were to learn airflares, and post up a vid, people on this site'd be like "Nice. 5/5" or maybe an occasional "Wow! Sick Form!".....if a girl did that.....I don't even have to finish that.
Now, this means girls have to put up with shit....but in the long run, a bboy can never be as "good" as a bgirl...
Peace.

i worked on power a lot my first year - to the detriment of my footwork and style... i had barely passable mills for the most part and a lot of sick freezes , scabbed shoulders and bruises all over for my efforts.
Yes i have strength now, but i'm not going down that road again for a while. As far as i'm concerned , style is where it's at - power is cool , and is dope when you're transitioning between things but i'm fully sick of someone come in , bust flares and leave. That gets no props from me anymore. What i want is to see a dope DANCER- and that means expression and cleanliness in their moves. I've not seen a lot of flares or mills that had character and originality on top of the technique... and i'm looking for originality now. It's all about the style as far as i'm concerned. Maybe this DOES have to do with the fact that power is more challenging for me than it is for a guy but i honestly think it's more to do with what i've seen repeated too many times anyhow.
you must have been a bgirl.... because the only moves that you pulled on me were heartbreakers

Power to the Bgirls! All my guys are cool with it cuz theres so much risk in breakin ( what with ur breakin bones, pullin muscles, etc.) and they actually respect me for it..
You only have one life to live, live it up...

Eh.
This society is messed. No doubt you'll be faced with sexism. Along with hate, and perhaps a WHOLE lot of discrimination.
But isn't breakdancing all about making the other look stupid? It even says so on the homepage.
Air moves us.
Fire transforms us.
Water shapes us.
Earth heals us.
