hahahah electron - 10-08-2003, 12:58 PM

i love the bit about the hoochie mama humping the floor...good one, bc its so damn true. funny stuff, but it pisses me off as well. half the time their lazy asses are sticking out their tight ass pants as they start humping their girl friends bc they think guys like that lame shit.....anyhow i'm stopping ranting, well maybe not. i personally don't know any hoochies who can even attempt a 6 step, but i know they like to take over the dance floor and pretend they can dance, but really all they can do is shake their butts a wee bit and they proceed to feel themselves up. hahaha it's pathetic....get out of my way eh?? i'll show u how it's done.

and if anyone cares i can almost do an armshair...i just have to lift the one arm that balances me,, by the end of the week man

anyhow, we're creating a new chapter to the dance as bgirls, we do stuff slightly different which gives us a unique style. i have decided the reason i can't do swipes is because i'm way too bottom heavy, so i'm going to try them on my own and not in the ways the boys have told me to do them. i just can't lift my fat booty high enough....but mark my words i'll get the damn move soon! i don't think you can judge us in the same manner as the boys but at the same time, we don't deserve easy props because we can do some lame side freeze. ok nuff said

Anubis2002 - Why wouldn't you want to?

After looking at what youv'e all said I can agree with all of you, in some ways.
I think what my problem is, is I am British meaning that b-girling isn't very popular over here, or should I say breaking in general isn't popular.
If I see a guy and tell him I want to a b-girl he is most likely to laugh at me but then if I go some place like New York they are more likely to big me up.
But hay that's just what I think, I mean I could be wrong.
Are there any other British guys/girls on here that can either back me up on my statement or argue it?

I mean I haven't ever been to America but I sure know one thing which is it is more popular over there than it is over here, am I right or am I right?

Holla back,
peace out b-girl Cassy x

Oh yeah and to all the Brits as American's call us,
Do you know of any shows/competitions, I mean breaking that I can see, here in Britian.
Because I haven't been able to find anything that is actually in England/Britian.
Let me know, or any one else that knows of any
please Holla back,
peace out b-girl Cassy x

I have yet to see a girl do a split v-kick...

Being the only 5'7(154) Korean guy in my town sux... it sure gets the girls tho...

I'm practicing 4hours everyday and I'm yet to see any difference yet...

Bass Guitar is my passion... but breakin' is what I am.

I guess that's an ok sig... ?

Are you sure it's the majority of b-boys that frown upon b-girls? Cuz I dunno a single guy that frowns upon a bgirl that's doing it for the right reason.

But like Crapbreaker sed.....there are those lesbian, really MANLY women who break just to be all like "WOMEN'S RIGHTS! YEAH! YEAH!" which as ya'll know, is NOT the reason for breakin'.....like this one girl tried to battle me back in the day because I brought that fact to her attention (About her doing it for the wrong reasons......(and she jus happened to be gay)). I smoked her, even though I wasn't even a fraction of as good as I am now, but I believe that it's her motives that kept her from being better than me. But hell, the ones that're all for the true reasons are all crazy. They do things like Windmills with their legs at 180 degrees, or handstands at 180 degrees, etc. Like jus lookit Shebang, that's a crew that I respect almost as much as a crew like Flyin' Steps, despite the fact that they frown in comparison, simply because they're out battling these 'ego' male crews that think they'll smoke 'em simply because they're girls. Yes....it's most definately a bit harder to do mills as a girl, but think of how much easier it is to do freezes when you only weigh half as much as a bboy? That's got my respect, and even got me a little scared to battle 'em. lol

Unfortunately, there aren't ANY bgirls around here. They're flooding the T.O, but not over here in Hamilton ('Least in my school/area), and I'm a bit disappointed. Cuz the ones that aren't tryin' to dick with bboys cuz they're men (for that reason) deserve some mad propz for bein' pioneers in the game.

So cassy, tinyD, and I dun really know anymore on here, keep at it. Dun stop, or the next group of Bgirls that're gonna mimic you WON'T because you weren't there to show 'em.

Peace.

Edit: DAAAAAAAMN! I didn't even realize TinyD's from the T dot. You gotta go down to McMaster U sometime and participate in their breakin' stuff. (I dun go to McM either, but there's lotsa breakin' circles and stuff there....not to mention, I get some propz for breakin' in front of guys that're like 5 years older than I am practically.....I wouldn't dare pop there though. Too shy, since no one else is. lol)

Edit 2: I heard from a friend of mine that on some satellite channel in Britain you can get Battle of the Year from illegal video taping guys. Maybe you got that or something too....but other than that, I'd say lookit the UK championship vids.

Thumbs down Here in E town... - 10-12-2003, 09:50 PM

There are no Bgirls in Edmonton. Well, there are a few but when you go to a battle and you are the only bgirl it is a little bit discouraging. I am talking REAL bgirls not hoochie groupies either. I wish there was a national Bgirl battle, that would be some wicked times. Bgirls have such a unique style to them, sure there aren't many power moves, but when they are pulled off it looks the illest. So any bgirls out there reading this and want to possibly help organize a mass bgirl battle give me a shout on the forum maybe we can get this ball on the roll

yo yo yo - 10-13-2003, 12:52 AM

ok first off i have short hair! what' so wrong with that, and if i was a lesbian, who cares? i'm not, but it would have nothing to do with my dance abilities! if anything it's the exact opposite of what you just described for wannabe bgirls. they wear all the trendy hip hop clothing and but don't know a thing about hip hop culture. whatever eh? ok done ranting!

I think Loki is better than ABgirl.

They battled at City vs City and I think Loki took it.

we had a breakdancing demo at our school, i knew a couple people from the demo, and theyre nice people, with pretty good skill. but i know some girls see that and their like "oo looks cool, i bet i could impress a few guys w/ that shit" and they go out and take a few classes until they hit swipes and decide its too hard. that pisses me off. they also dont practice enough. i find it hard to practice because i have so many things to do, but i try to go at least once a week and catch up on a few moves. and girls dont kno about hiphop culture? a lot of guys dont know about culture. you have to advance in the dance a certain amount.. or at least have a real interest in it to go research how it came about. a lot of times you dont just start out knowing everything. have u ever thought that a lot of bgirls arent that good because we havent been around that long? bgirling is sort of a new thing...u dont meet bgirls all the time that can say -o ive been doing this for 8+ years- if you havent noticed...we've all kind of...just started. bboying has been around longer...its just more popular.

crap- i wouldnt say all bgirls wanna be gay and all that stuff. maybe the reason we have short hair is so we can dance without it getting in our way, not kuz we wanna be manly. if you ever go to a bgirl event, youll find that the majority of the girls there...are pretty cute. and some even have LONG HAIR! no. but really. if you saw them walking around, youd think they were just normal girls who did...girly stuff. except for a select few who do choose to look like men.

How many others think it's true that guys judge before they even watch us, they say "I bet they are rubbish" just because we are girls, we could be the best breakers they will ever see but won't think to give us a chance because we are b-girls and not b-boys.

Well Im proud of all the b-girls out there that have proved that we can make it as girls, they have proved that b-girls do exist.

Biggin it up to all the b-girls,
peace out b-girl Cassy
