There is no such thing as b-girls. -
10-07-2003, 05:35 AM
How many of you are fed up of guys thinking girls cant break.
They all think we should do ballet and modern but dont aggree that we can break, it really gets to me How many others think it's true that guys judge before they even watch us, they say "I bet they are rubbish" just because we are girls, we could be the best breakers they will ever see but won't think to give us a chance because we are b-girls and not b-boys. Well Im proud of all the b-girls out there that have proved that we can make it as girls, they have proved that b-girls do exist. Biggin it up to all the b-girls, peace out b-girl Cassy ![]() |

i think you have it all wrong, i admit there are guys who do say that but that is not all the bboys out there. that statement is too much of a generalisation, i personally wish there were more b-girls out there, its just sad to not see them getting out there and putting themselves about, i guess its a bit of what you said dragging them down as well as their own inferiorty complexes. nothing others say should stop you from doing something you love.
WE NEED ORE B-GIRLS, and modern dance is gay so no one should do that. ballet is cool since its just classy. aight anywho peace ABSTRACTHOUGHT |

with effort and determination almost ANYONE can do ANYTHING .
give a fuck about what poeple think . do what YOU want , and prove anyone who dosen't give you a chance that he's wrong . don't ever feel down . believe in yourself , and that's the only thing that matters . then everyone will believe in you too . |

But it does get to me when guys are negative about b-girls. holla back, peace out b-girl Cassy x |

I think that statement was WAY over the top...i dont know many bboys out there that even come close to saying bgirls cant break. the biggest crime they are guilty of is that they give mad easy props for them doing nothing, just because they are girls. No bboy ive ever met denies girls can break, true SOME have superiority issues but they do with everyone, not just girls but not many denounce girls as unteachable. Bgirls have been a huge part of the scene for many years, considering a lot of events do SPECIFIC events for the girls n some are coming up HARD i think its safe to say that the statement, altho heartful doesnt carry as much weight in that form
the only thing u have to worry about is some dick hitting on u because ur a girl in the game or giving u easy props for nothing |

i think that some girls think that they can get away with dancing badly because they're cute - i've seen it enough in clubs ... dope ass bboys in the circle and then some hoochie mama comes in and starts doing a wak six step and then humping the floor ... that annoys the heck out of me
but there are a lot of great bgirls out there , and i'm lucky enough to be able to practice with some of them , and they practice hard . It takes a while to earn the respect of the bboys , but that goes for anyone , not just girls . And if anything , i think that the boys are more standoffish here just because you don't want to come across as coming on to everyone and anybody . So for a while , nobody pays you much notice , but eventually if you keep showing up and show that you practice that you're not going to give up on it , they'll let you in . That's all . The dynamic is perhaps different . |

you must have been a bgirl.... because the only moves that you pulled on me were heartbreakers

Drifter...the final project
Breaking can be whatever you want it to be. If you want it to be the original, structured dance that it was 20 years ago, then it can be that for you. If you want it to be your own limitless form of expression, it can be that for you. The world will never agree on what exactly Breaking is... and if the world ever does agree, then I guess I won't be Breaking anymore. -Kujo, Soul Control |
