It's that time of the year again! Hope everyone has a good time today!

Caught a movie today and will be meeting up with my friends tmr for some simple celebration. ha, i guess my xmas's pretty boring. hope it's different for you all!

i got home on monday night at 1 am , we drove all the way up the coast from cali to victoria ( caught the vancouver ferry just in time ) it was amazing. I LOVE that drive !

We named it the official 2003 christmas hip hop tour of the pacific northwest, andi have my friend carrie fully converted to wyclef now . So fun, so great, and in a cooper mini car none the less !

Victoria is as sleepy as ever- i spent the night with my ex last night , which is a ritual here and always awesome. We're gonna hang out again on the 26th ,but there are a lot of friends in town and not enough time to see them. One is playing in a band ( hot hot heat , if you know of them ) andi NEVER get to see him anymore because he's ALWAYS on tour, so that's gonna be nice too... home for the holidays and whatnot. I wasn't sure if artists got vacation !

Going to go to the church early tonight and use the meeting hall downstairs to practice- all of a sudden the fact that my mom plays the organ means somethign when they can let me in early

Aura - red bull is great but it'll fuck you in the long run and it's CERTAINLY not what you want to be drinking if you're sick. Good that you're having green tea- try to lay lo , get some emergence-C if you can ( That stuff is the bomb ) and also try to get ahold of some ossilococinium ( it's a homeopathic remedy) itll negate a cold or a flu like windex on a mirror if you catch it in time.

i can barely believe it but my second in line sister and i are actually getting along ! We haven't fought this entire christmastime and actually had a lot of laughs. I never thought thatit could happen - traditionally we've been at each other's throats within 4 hours of me getting home. It's awesome.I've had such a good time this trip - being able to practice in the church basement helped a LOT - i actually got a kickass burn ( as in , burning someone, not carpet burn ) down tonight , now just to speedit up and clean up thepunches ..... it's so good , i'm so happy . There are even two parties tomorrow night that i HAVE to be at, usually this only happens in tel aviv or in SF and although it's a stress factor , it also means that there is fun stuff going down. Apparantly not only is the standard hip hop night going down at ONE club but at another one there are breaks witha DJ from london and i suspect that any victoria bboys will be out at one of those parties - everybody wants to work of that christmas cake

so on saturday we start the drive back home
i can't believe it went so fast

Ztrip for new years on wednesday ... afterparty at the pimp pad in the castro
and back to regular life and the daily grind as of friday i guess ...

this break was truly, truly needed

tiny - congrats !! it's been a long time since i worked on freezes - i should work on the elbow stuff more - yeah it hurts , i made elbow pads with shoulder pads sewn in to soccer socks - that works pretty well

so i'm doing whatever, get on to my shoulders and do a couple shoulder CC"s ( cc's only rotating from side to side like a shoulder freeze) then roll back , lying down with my knees bent , pull hands around the head , come to sitting up looking with one hand and pointing to someone at the other

roll the pointing hand , lick my other hand and draw it down my stomach while making eyes at that person, grab my crotch, get in to a " flying saucer freeze " ( legs hooked over shoulders, toes pointing straight forwards , hold that a second , maybe hop it once that's a little stronger , then either flip it in to a headstand or else just stand up , draw one hand along my inner thigh, the other one slaps my ass... pull myself up by the crotch and walk off ... it's tight you gotta trust me on that one

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. I'm just glad its on to New Years and I'm on vacation for the next nine days.

About to get dressed and go dance. I miss breakbeats. I haven't heard anybody spin em' in a while. I think breakbeats(funky, nu skool) are my favorite genre to dance to. I love hip hop and jungle, but breakbeats got the perfect tempo.....and perfect "breaking" points with whips and snaps, that I can add cute lil pop and slides to in my top rock.

Oh and about the red bull Dom...that was before I got sick. I only drink that ish if totally necessary. Otherwise I stick to water and gatorade. And my throats straight now...just a 2 day setback. Drank tea and soup and rested...I'm all good now. That burn sounds complex(probably easier done then explained on your behalf) but tight nonetheless.

the burn IS kinda complex and it incorporates moves not usually practiced in bboying without being entirely out of context. THis is what i wanted , that's why i'm so proud of it - it's not the kind of thing that someone can come in right afterwards and top , and i'm going to come up with even doper ones soon ... feels like i'm on a roll.

YEah i'm stoked on Ztrip - even though i paid too much for the ticket even at the cut rate price . Whatever , it'll be good and i won't care about the money - it's just the principle of the thing.

HAd a great day today - boxing day shopping , went to lush , to AnB sound and got a massive amount of music , NWA greatest hits, LL cool J, tone loc and so on , eazy E , big daddy Kane , the good shit , the old shit , paying respect and doing my homework kind of stuff... and just for good measure , the DVD of MJ's best videos YEAH !!!!! CAn't wait for that DVD player on my new laptop , can't wait for the new laptop.

THen i met steve for coffee and it was so cool ... we connected just like we used to 5 years ago when he was a pizza delivery boy and we'd drive around for hours and talk about what he wanted to do and what i wanted to do and how we planned on making our dreams work despite our parents' other interests. It's so good to see him doing well . Went back to his place and listened to music, watched some footage of the band playing a show in Toronto - D , were you there ? They played "you can't always get what you want " as an encore and brought kids up onstage -apparantly they drunk all the band's beer.

NOw i'm downtown , killing time before hooking up with high school friends for some dancing- there are two places to go tonight , one with breaks, one hip hop , i'm stamped for each. ANd very , very happy

Holy shit am I freaking sore. I had so much fun last night 2step, breaks and jungle. Good night good night. And there weren't alot of bboys there last night so I got more time on the floor which was nice and is why I'm hurting more then usual today! Its a good hurt except for my right shoulder(wing area). I always have issues with my right shoulder when I'm practicing freezes, but its all good I guess. Got some icy hot and a nice bath should do the trick.lol- i must sound like suttins always wrong with me. Oh well, shit happens.

I was up til like 5am reading a new book after dancing. Slept in and finally dragged my aching butt outta bed to go shopping. Bought some old school super ninetendo games (mario world and donkey kong) I'm not big on videogames, but I LOVE super ninetendo. Got some new cotton/stretchy gear to dance in. And I finally got a mic for my laptop! I'm psyched! I can't wait til Bali gets back.

I wanna go cd shopping soon too. Sounds like you got all the hot classics electron. I hear you on keeping up with the old and the new. My girl ended up buying me the best of Outkast instead of Aesop ROck, so I still gotta pick that up, but the Outkast mix is pretty tight. I love that track "I like the way you move" Oh god that bassline is so funky.

i like outkast a lot - they're pretty genius even when they stray oh so far from hip hop, but recently i've found them to be kinda self indulgent in their endeavors - i can take this from groups like the beastie boys who've been around forever and have established themselves but i don't have the same kind of patience with outkast. I like ms. jackson, and i'll call before i come, i like the way you move is pretty good too but the hey ya song drives me up the wall!
I have aesop rock -i can copy it for you and send it to you if you like ( it may take a while though, given my track record with the post office !) but a CD fits in to a regular envelope so it shouldn't be too bad

i'm in portland now , it's good to be in a real house for a night or two - staying with my friend emma who is also a certified gyrotonics instructor -i met her when I was a gyrotonics instructor and selling clothes in SF , she was this little kid who would save her pennies and then buy some of my stuff... skip to 6 years later when i met her again in another yoga certification course and we totally hit it off... now my stuff is in a store that she used to own here and i try to visit whenever i can. She wants to get in to breaking- she actually ordered the how to breakdance video from bboy.org but it doesn't have sound !)()#*()#*)(#%@#%@)(

and give her a lesson tomorrow
