I see a lot of people here that express this opinion : "people should wear whatever they want, clothing doesnt really matter, your skills, what you bring to the floor matters most".
I have to disagree here.Even though I dont care what people dress like and there is no way anyone "should" dress to be a bboy/bgirl, the way you dress is important.
Dancing is an art and you give a certain impression by dressing a certain way, it doesnt matter what your dress style is, but if you do look fresh your moves will look slicker.(except if you really cant pull it off because your skills are too low).
Generally if you have a decent level of skill, the way you dress will emphasize your sets.
Bottom line is imo, there is no specific way for anyone to dress when bboying, just if you do dress good, it will add to your performance.

I think theres some dresscode for bgirling. Since it is a dancing sport, just like ballroom dance or ballet you have to wear 'some type' of clothes.

Ofcourse its not a big deal what you wear, just saying...

Baggy sweatpants, sneakers, nice t-shirts and that stuff shows off the culture.
But heels,, c'mon...?
I can't even move in skinnies. Wtf heels.

It's the fact that B-Girls are expected to dress like boys that pisses me off. It's become a norm that came about when the first B-Girls stepped on the floor, no one took them seriously because they dressed feminine.

I understand y'all girls are trying represent, but this B-Girl style is whack.
like someone mentiond b4, some bgirls may b a tomboy, so thts they choice of dress yah know?

personally i dress jus fine, sometimes il wear loose fitting sweatpants, but not ridiculously loose.

the only thing i hav seen bgirls wear tht could be seen as like boyish are loose clothing or big plain t's and sweatpants, which isnt rele remotely close to meaning they dress like a guy

i guess mayb it depends on the girl, amirite?
